When you eat something, it gets turned into glucose, which goes into the mitochondria and the mitochondria turn the glucose into energy. Each cell in your body can have thousands of mitochondria, except for blood cells, which don’t have any. So mitochondria are very tiny but there pretty important, because without them you wouldn’t have any energy, and you’d be dead. But i think they could be a lot better. Right now mitochondria only make energy from glucose, but with genetic engineering, why not have mitochondria that make energy from bad things like pollution, and garbage, i mean, wouldn’t that be a pretty good use of bad stuff?
Brilliant ideas! Yes what a splendiferous use of genetic engineering that actually helps the world. Exclamation Mark! ! !
And I never knew that blood cells didn’t have mitochondria! How do they produce energy for themselves, then?
